| If you ever love and lose your innocence, don't hide. |

I gave my MC, Anna, an assignment: Tell me 20 things you've learned about life by the beginning of this book.
Here are her answers.
Stillness and quiet hurt. It's best to keep busy.- It is good to be left alone. Even when you're with people, find a way to seclude yourself.
- Even the very best people will leave.
- People want to be happy.
- People will try to be happy at the expense of others.
- People love you best when you're doing what they want.
- It's possible that you will never be enough for anyone, since you weren't enough for your mom.
- Adults don't have all the answers, even though they make all the rules.
- You have to work hard so that you'll be okay when you're left alone.
- Love hurts, but you can't be a good person and not love.
- Sometimes I'm not sure if I want to be a good person.
- Girls are capable of taking care of themselves. It's not as easy as it is for boys, but it's possible.
- Not getting married is not the worst thing possible.
- Men can be really wonderful. They're different than women, but they can be good. Very good.
- I like people but I don't trust them.
- I don't want to hurt anymore.
- Maybe it's just me. Maybe I can't be loved. If that's the case, I should do my best for the rest of them. The ones who are worth something.
- I don't want someone to love me so much they hurt someone else. Especially someone who loves them.
- I want my life to have mattered.
- You don't have to have money to make a difference.
If you're up for a challenge, do the same for your character. And if you blog it, post the link here so we can dive into your MC's mind!

Great exercise! I think I'm going to do that one.
And then what they learned after the story/book has concluded? Me like exercises. ;-D
Your gal seems like a nice person. Level headed.
The problem with this exercise is that it's making me want to read everyone's books. Seriously, this is a great teaser into your character's world! | |
